Much of my summer has been spent developing an online Zotero course through Udemy. This is my first MOOC, and I’m pleased to say that it has now gone live. It comprises 24 videos, demonstrating how to create, manage, and cite references with Zotero and Word. I walk students through each step with clear instructions and there’s a discussion panel where I answer any questions.
The first 25 blog readers can get a 50% discount by following this link to my Zotero course. That’ll give you a 2-hour course for around £5/$8.
In case you’re interested in the technology behind MOOCs, I’ve been using Camtasia for the video and Audacity for the audio. There was a lot to learn, but I think those are two of the best tools available.
I’ll be working on some more MOOCs over the coming months – please let me know if there’s anything you’d particularly like to learn online.
