Hello. I’m Catherine Pope, a freelance research skills trainer, writer, and publisher.
In 2014 I was awarded my PhD on the Victorian novelist Florence Marryat by the University of Sussex, where I run workshops on research and writing skills. I’ve also taught nineteenth-century literature at the University of Brighton. Before moving into academia, I worked for 12 years as a web developer and IT manager. Yes, it’s a very odd combination.
Until July, I’m working two days a week at the University of Sussex, looking after the training and development needs of post-doctoral researchers. And I’m also spending one day a week on developing a VLE and digital strategy for CHASE.
